Population: 3,302Significance: Aquileia was one of the most important cities in the Roman world, with over 100,000 inhabitants in the 2nd century CE. There is a basilica there that was built mostly in the 11th and 12th centuries, but includes a floor mosaic from an earlier church that dates to the 4th century CE.
