Zamosc, Poland - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Significance: In the late 16th century Jan Zamoysky went on a trip to Italy and saw the glory of the Italian Renaissance and decided to build a city in that style back in Poland. He brought over an Italian architect, Bernardo Merando, and the outcome was Zamosc - called the "Polish pearl of the Renaissance."
