Anjar, Lebanon - UNESCO World Heritage Site

 Place: Anjar, Lebanon

Weather: Sun and a few passing clouds, 41/63F.

Route: From Byblos 90 km SE on 51M and 30M.

Significance: Founded and abandoned in the 8th century, Anjar is a good example of an early Islamic city - that had many influences from earlier Byzantine architecture.  It was on the route between Beirut and Damascus.
