Significance: In 1921 a few teeth were found that ended up belonging to the skull of Homo Erectus who lived anywhere between 250,000 and 700,000 years ago. This site has led to many other discoveries, both of other Homo Erectus remains and those of early Homo Sapiens.Website: UNESCO World Heritage Site
