Bridgetown, Barbados - UNESCO World Heritage Site

 Place: Bridgetown, Barbados

Weather: Windy with a few showers in the morning then partly cloudy in the afternoon, 77/84F.

Route: From Dominica 310 km SE.

Population: 110,000 (2014)

Significance: Bridgetown is a well preserved example of a British Caribbean colonial town.  The town was established in 1628. When the British came to Barbados it was uninhabited. The town differs from Spanish colonial towns in that it has a serpentine layout rather than a grid.  Many 17th-19th century buildings still exist today.
