Taputapuatea, France - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Significance: Taputapuatea is the center of the Polynesian world - the last part of the world to be inhabited by humans. The ma'ohi people have lived here for 1,000 years. The main site on the island is a marae complex, which were used for ceremonial, burial, and political purposes.
