Tongariro National Park, New Zealand - UNESCO World Heritage Site

 Place: Tongariro National Park, New Zealand

Weather: Periods of rain, 52/60F.

Route: From Auckland 332 km south on State highway 1 and 4.

Significance: Tongariro was the first UNESCO site as a cultural landscape.  It is a beautiful area with many volcanoes and the area is very important from a religious perspective for the native Maori.
