Labrador

Labrador's nickname is "The Big Land." Labrador has the same land area as Arizona (the 6th largest U.S. state by area) but it only has 27,000 people. We won't be traveling to the hinterlands of Labrador, but I thought it was at least worth mentioning what it's like - as it's the first time on this virtual trip when we're in a place that feels completely remote.  There is only one road - the Trans-Labrador Highway, which connects the main towns. Here are a few of those towns.
Happy Valley-Goose Bay: This is the largest town in Labrador with a population of 8,100. Most of the inhabitants work on the Air Force base.
Labrador City: The second largest city with slightly over 7,000 inhabitants - it is in western Labrador near the border with Quebec. It is primarily a mining town.
North Coast: This is where it gets really remote. The towns are mostly populated by Inuit. There are no roads here - one can only get from town to town by snowmobile, boat, or airplane.
