Lorsch Abbey, Germany - UNESCO World Heritage Site

 Place: Lorsch Abbey, Germany

Weather: Intervals of clouds and sunshine, 62/87F.

Route: From Frankfurt 59 km south on A5.

Significance: The Konigshalle gate was built in the 8th century as part of the large Abbey that was built here during the Carolingian period. The kings of the Eastern part of the Frankish realm were buried here in the 9th century.
