Villa Romana del Casale, Italy - UNESCO World Heritage Site

 Place: Villa Romana del Casale, Italy

Weather: Sunshine and clouds mixed, 40/62F.

Route: From Syracuse 153 km WNW on A19 and E932.

Significance: An incredibly well preserved country villa of a 3rd century CE Roman villa. An earthquake and landslide occurred here in the 12th century which buried and protected the mosaics, which are the largest in such good condition in the world.
