Place: Qal'at al-Bahrain, Bahrain
Weather: Sunny along with a few clouds, 61/73F.
Route: From Riyadh 465 km ENE on Route 40 and Route 80.
Significance: The site is currently the home to a 16th century Portuguese fort. However there is a 12 m mound the fort sits on that includes remains that date all the way back to 2300 BC. These previous buildings were the home to Kassites, Greeks, Portuguese and Persians.Website: UNESCO World Heritage Site
