Shibam, Yemen - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Significance: Known as the "Chicago" or "Manhattan of the Desert" - Shibam is made up of unique 5-11 story buildings that were originally built in the 16th century. They are made of mud brick, which means they need to be rebuilt constantly due to erosion from wind and rain.
