Grotte Chauvet-Pont d'Arc, France - UNESCO World Heritage Site

Place: Grotte Chauvet- Pont d'Arc, France

Weather: Cloudy, 46/62F.

Route: From Orange 57 km NNW N7 and D4.

Significance: At >30,000 years old - this is certainly one of the oldest human made sites that we have visited. There is something that appears modern about these charcoal drawings. The shading and suggestion of movement shows they were made by a relatively advanced mind.
