Orange, France - UNESCO World Heritage Site

 Place: Orange, France

Route: From Avignon 32 km north on A7.

Population: 28,922

Significance: Orange was the capital of Roman Provence. Two structures are from that era - the triumphal arch and a large Roman theatre.  In the 16th and 17th centuries the House of Orange played a major role on the world stage - ruling The Netherlands and other territories.
